Tap Hunter/Events

I am not sure the best way to do this yet, but I hope to have a set up here where people can post some rare taps that they may find around their respective cities. For instance, if the Coffee Ethic in Springfield, Missouri taps a Jolly Pumpkin keg, this would be the venue to mention it. Until, I think of a better way of doing this, I guess, simply commenting on this post would work. I suggest, for now either commenting with the bar/restaurant name as well as city and the “rare” or “uncommon” taps and I will organize it until I find a better solution….. I may just set up a small forum, with each city of interest as a topic. For now, if you have a knowledge of a favorite beer on tap (anywhere in the world) please comment with the date, beer name and location.

  1. Last week The Coffee Ethic in downtown Springfield had Jolly Pumpkin La Parcella on tap. Sadly it has been cashed. In the next few days they should be getting Left Hand Brewing’s Fade to Black Foreign Export Stout as well as some other great stuff, check them out.

  2. Finnegin’s Revival/Wake has Odell’s IPA, which for any town is a pretty good tap and a really rare one for this town.

Patton has the best overall selection in town, they have recently had Petrus Aged Pale on tap, being as it is no longer available in Missouri, it is unlikely to still be there. They always have Bell’s Two Hearted Ale though, which is tough to beat.

  3. A remarkable reveal, I recently with all this on to the colleague who had previously been conducting a little analysis in this. After which he in fact bought me personally breakfast since i have ran across this with regard to him or her.. smile. Therefore allow me to edit which: Thnx for that deal with! However yeah Thnkx with regard to spending whenever to go over this, I’ve found myself strongly about this as well as really like reading through concerning this topic. If at all possible, as you grow knowledge, would you mind updating your website that has a lot additional information? It is extremely great for me. Huge thumb up due to this brief article!

    • I plan on it, it is still new and I am busy doing a ton of things, but no, this part especially I hope grows into something really cool, feel free to submit info, if it is accurate I will share it with the rest of the world…

  4. For the time being Bell’s Hopslam is back in stock at the International Wine Center, if you missed it the first time this year or just need a little bit more, get there soon. This is one of a few beers that are better out of the bottle than on tap!

    • Correction, last I have heard the Perennial Chocolate Mint Stout will not be at the Coffee Ethic on Saturday. However, they will be tapping a keg of the Abraxas (which if you have not read my posts about it, is simply world class and a true gem on tap) as well as Plan B which is a sour collaboration between Perennial and Half Acre Brewing. I have also heard that the brewers of Perennial are around town, where and for how long is a mystery. Still, definitely put the Coffee Ethic on your list of places to stop at on St. Patrick’s Day 2012!

  5. This upcoming Thursday a Boulevard rep will be at Skinny Slims (Downtown Springfield, right next to Patton Ally) with a keg of the limited edition smokestack Rye on Rye and some appetizers that pair well with it at 7pm. Check it out!

You really do not want to miss this.
